Tsum Valley Trek – Hidden Sacred Valley of Nepal
Package Overview
The Tsum Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most spiritual and least-explored trekking routes, tucked deep within the Manaslu Conservation Area near the Tibetan border. Opened only in 2008, this remote valley remains largely untouched by mass tourism. The word “Tsum” comes from the Tibetan term Tsombo, meaning vivid or clear.
Locals, known as Tsumbas, believe the valley to be a sacred Beyul (hidden land) blessed by Guru Padmasambhava in the 8th century. Unlike commercial trekking routes, Tsum Valley offers a rare combination of Himalayan wilderness, living Tibetan Buddhist culture, and ancient monasteries. Even today, violence, animal killing, and hunting are strictly forbidden in many parts of the valley.
This trek is ideal for travelers seeking peace, authenticity, and off-the-beaten-path exploration rather than crowds and luxury.
